Physiotherapy

All our staff are Senior level physiotherapists with a wealth of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic knowledge and experience. Please feel free to book in online and discuss your issues at your first assessment. We suggest leaving 45 minutes for a first assessment, then 30 minutes for a follow up.

Fiona is originally from the North of England and qualified from York St John University. After working in the NHS in orthopaedic, neuro and stroke care, she moved onto a specialist spinal hospital in Dubai, UAE, before moving to Bermuda in 2015. Jane graduated in 1989 from the Oswestry & North Staffordshire School of Physiotherapy, England, with a Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy.

Initially working for the NHS in and around Oxford, she gained valuable experience at both the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and The Radcliffe Infirmary. She moved to Bermuda in 1992 and worked at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for two years. Since 1994 Jane has worked in private practice, treating mostly orthopaedic, musculoskeletal and sports injury patients. She started at OPA in 2017 and particularly enjoys post operative rehabilitation.

Lizzie Peckett qualified with a BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy, in 2000 from Brighton University, England, and began her career in outpatients and orthopaedics departments in the NHS system in southern England. A relocation to Australia allowed her to volunteer her services at the McConnell Institute in Sydney, a private practice specialising in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy.

Prior to becoming a Physiotherapist, Lizzie worked in the retail sector and for two notable UK youth development organisations: Raleigh International and World Challenge Expeditions, planning and leading expeditions in various parts of the world.

She founded OPA in 2006, and as the joint owner and manager. Her main physiotherapy interests are musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries with a holistic view of the patient in order for them self-manage in the long term.

Jomari graduated from the University of the Free State in South Africa. She then worked in a government setting as a junior physiotherapist. She opened a private practice where she treated mostly orthopaedic and sports injuries, while teaching pilates and rebounding classes in the community. After moving to the city of Bloemfontein, she started working at a physical rehabilitation hospital where she gained further experience in orthopaedic and post-operative conditions, geriatrics and neurological conditions. Jomari moved to Bermuda and joined OPA in March 2023.

Alex gained her diploma in Physiotherapy in 1999 in Germany.

Before moving to the UK in 2002, Alex worked mostly in paediatrics with children ages 3-6 and in a private orthopaedic practice in Bonn, Germany.

Alex continued to work as a community paediatric PT in the UK and once moving to Bermuda in 2010.

In Bermuda Alex was part of the Early Intervention team from the Dept of Health.

Alex joined OPA In 2015 and has widened her scope of practice beyond paediatrics to orthopaedic and sports related injuries as well as elderly -and palliative care.

Alex is a passionate and accomplished athlete and completed numerous half- and full ironman triathlons. She enjoys applying her knowledge and passion of movement and healthy living to her daily work.
